Editing SKUs overview
SKU Manager includes two main workflows: Update SKUs and Format SKUs. The right one depends on whether you want to build or replace SKU values, or simply clean up the ones you already have.
Two ways to edit SKUs
Update SKUs
When you want to create new SKU values using a structured format. This workflow is best when you want more control over how SKUs are built.
Format SKUs
When your SKU values already exist, but need to be cleaned up or standardized. This workflow is best for making existing SKUs look more consistent without completely rebuilding them.

If you are changing the structure of the SKU itself, start with Update SKUs. If you are only cleaning up the way existing SKUs look, use Format SKUs.
